Why should I use a pet sitter rather than kennel my pet(s)?
Your pet´s daily routine should not be altered unless absolutely necessary. By kenneling your pet(s) you risk sacrificing their emotional well being and health. If your pet is a senior or a rescued pet he or she faces the probability of getting even more traumatized than any other pet. Rescued pets often have separation issues and a continuous fear of being left or given up again. Don´t do that to your pet, if you don´t have to ?

By taking your pet out of his/her home your pet is not only subjected to being away from you, but also being taken out of his/her comfortable home. At home he/she has the familiar sights, sounds, smells and don't forget a comfy pet bed, or your sofa and all of his/her toys to play with.
The car ride to the boarding facility in itself is a hassle for you as well as incredibly stressful for your pet. Having a trusted Critter Nannies Pet Care Professional™ come to your home is the next best thing to having you there!
You can use our professional pet care services for whatever frequency or duration required. Some of our clients choose a couple days per week, while others choose an entire week, plus weekend walks. Its totally up to you! There are no long term contracts to sign. We welcome pet parents that require either 1 day a week to 7 days per week.
How many keys do I need to give to Critter Nannies Inc.?
We require two tested sets of keys. We do this for the safety of your pet. Keys can actually sometimes become defective. It does happen. With relying on one key for entry there is a probability we could be impeded from accessing your home to visit your pet. That is not a chance we ever want to take. To eliminate any possibility of access issues to your home. We require either two working & tested keys or one key and a garage code. Either way, we will need two methods of entry to your home. We will never rely on a garage code only. In the event of a power outage we would not be able to get in to visit your pet. Therefore we ask that you give us at least 1 working key and a garage code as a backup method.
What services do you offer?
Critter Nannies Inc. offers Daily Dog Walks, In Home Vacation Care (where we come to visit your dog or cat up to 3-4 times per day for dogs and up to 2 time per day for felines). We also feature Pet Taxi. We can take your pet to the Groomer, Veterinarian or the Airport if needed.
Sorry at this time we do not offer Daycare or Boarding. We will keep you posted on our status as we begin to offer more services very soon!
Is Critter Nannies Inc. Bonded & Insured?
Yes, Critter Nannies Inc. is fully Bonded & Insured with coverage via Pet Sitter´s International, Business Insurer´s Of The Carolinas. Our Company is also licensed with The Secretary Of State.
How many visits a day do I need for my pet?
For Canines we recommend at least 3 visits per day. We will visit in the AM, Late Afternoon and Bedtime. Our visits are structured to break up the day perfectly for your dogs. They will get exercise, the love and attention that they deserve.
For Cats we recommend up to 1-2 visits per day, but it is solely the client´s choice. Some cats eat dry food 1 time per day, while some eat wet food and require feeding in the AM & at Dinner. You let us know what your usual routine is for your cat and we will mimic your pet care to a tee.
What forms of payment do you take and when do I pay for your services?
We accept Cash, Check, and Visa & Mastercard. We require all vacation clients to pre-pay for their services. Our Daily Dog Walk clients pay weekly, at week´s end. For more infrequent daytime walks we will custom tailor a payment plan suitable and convenient for you.
How do I reserve pet sitting services?
If it is an upcoming vacation care service you would like to book and it is 2 weeks or more away from today´s date please go ahead and fill out our online form with all of your requirements, contacts and dates needed. Click Here.
If it’s a timely request coming up in 2 weeks or less time, please call us at 847.269.2904 right away so we can confirm availability and make a time to set up a complimentary initial Meet & Greet prior to your dates of service.
Please do not consider your trip or service needs confirmed until you hear from us directly. We will ALWAYS contact you to confirm availability and go over your service requests. We will always return your call or email in a timely manner. If we do not answer right away that is due to the fact that we are assisting other clients at the moment. We will contact you as soon as pawsible!
Who are your pet sitters?
Our Pet Sitters, also known as Critter Nannies Professional Pet Care Consultants™hail from the pet care industry and also the human health care industry. Many are Veterinarian Technicians, Groomers or Animal Shelter Volunteers. All of our Consultants are caring, animal loving, security conscious and trustworthy.
In addition, to the rigid background checks performed on all our Consultants, The Critter Nannies maintain high standards when it comes to the care and well being of your pets and your home. They will alternate lights, blinds, bring in mail and papers all to give your home the “lived” in look while your away. Unlike many other pet care companies we offer all of these added services at no additional cost to you! Our main goal is the well being of your pets and security of your home while you’re away.
Does my sitter accept tips?
Yes, your sitter will accept tips. We ask that if you leave a tip for your pet sitter that you kindly leave it in a separate envelope labeled for the sitter. Please do not combine it with payment to Critter Nannies Inc. Your thoughtfulness is appreciated by your Critter Nanny.
What are the holiday charges and when are they?
There is a nominal charge per visit for holidays including: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year´s Eve, New Year´s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day & Labor Day.
Will you pick up after my pet ?
Of course we will. We carry our own bags and will always pick up after your pet.
