All of our Critter Nannies Pet Care Consultants go above and beyond every day when it comes to caring for our client's pets. They all echo one sentiment and that is that their jobs are not considered work at all. Though they take their pet care positions very seriously they enjoy immensely spending time with and caring for pets. They truly care for and love their client's pets as if they were their very own.
I have been a Critter Nanny for several years, and was happy to return after a short hiatus for the birth of my first child. I missed my regular clients and the overall joy being a Critter Nanny brought to my life. I was lucky on many levels to be able to return on a part time basis, while still having time for my family....including 2 dogs and a Guniea Pig that thinks she is a dog! Being a Critter Nanny as well as having my own pets, helped us to create a wonderful environment in which my now 10 month old son and pets can co-exist safely and happily.
My pets were my first babies, and we were unsure how they would take to a new baby. Well, all I can say is that my son and dogs are literally brothers and friends. Now that my son can stand, he is starting to interact with the Guinea pig, too. I couldn't be happier about that! My husband and I have encouraged these relationships since day one. We let the baby touch and pet the animals, using hand over hand technique. If the dogs wanted to give a kiss or explore the baby, we never yelled at them, therefore teaching that the baby was a "good" thing...a welcome part of the family. Supervision is always important, especially when my son is getting into the dog food bowls and playing with their toys. The dogs have become protective and very loving as a result. We continue to spoil the pets with their favorite treats and toys.
We do our best to treat them just like we did before the baby arrived. It also doesn't hurt to have distractions for them when I get busy with my son! My son is currently driving the dogs nuts, providing great entertainment for us.....crawling over them, and using them as leverage to stand. We are lucky to have this bond between us all, though I think it can be achieved with patience, love, andencouragement on everyone's part. I always tell
everyone that I have THREE sons.
Dani has a background in animal rescue. She has been involved in fostering out of her home, rescuing from high kill pounds, participating in transports of rescues, rehabilitating abused and neglected dogs, as well as working on a few humane cases.
Dani has a 5 year old mixed breed named Elvis, whom she rescued from a flea market as a puppy. She hopes to always work in the animal field doing whatever she can.
I love and have been around animals ever since I can remember. There has never been a period of time when we haven’t had at least one animal in my home. I have owned everything from cats and dogs to bunnies.
I have extended my love for animals by volunteering at an animal shelter in Dekalb, Illinois, where I was attending college. That experience was great because I really felt like I was helping a cause that I could stand behind. My stint at the shelter didn’t last as long as I would have liked because my mother was afraid I would bring home all the animals, which I probably would have.
Tori, my sister, has been my puppy and my best friend for twelve years. She is a pure breed Shih tzu. Even though I am walking dogs and pet sitting animals all day, I still can’t wait to come home and give her love and take her on walks. I also have a one year old Holland Lop bunny named Mr. Cooper. I am slightly embarrassed to admit it, but I also have a leash for Mr. Cooper and when the weather permits I like to take him out on “hops”.
Being a Critter Nanny doesn’t feel much like work because I love it so much, although I do take it very seriously. This job is very rewarding because the more attention I give to the animals the more the animals gives back to me. I look forward to going to work everyday because working as a Critter Nannies Pet Care Consultant is such a rewarding experience.
I have always had a strong passion to work with animals ever since I was a young child. I am a dog groomer as well as being a Critter Nanny. I went to professional dog grooming school for 9 months to become a trained and licensed Groomer. I see the way people love their pets in both of my pet careers and it's very rewarding to see how happy they are to have us care for them! There is something about having the company of a pet that puts a smile on my face :) and brings out the playful kid side in me!
I have a full-time job in human healthcare with cancer patients but this is my extra fun part-time job in animal well-being. I have always felt a strong pull towards animals for as long as I can remember; Because of that, I am an animal-rights activist/vegan and volunteer my time with different animal rescue groups/shelters/non-profit organizations in the hope to have a voice for the animals and create better lives for them.
Besides just loving animals and volunteering with them, I have prior experience with dogs, cats, small animals, birds, fish, and reptiles from my time spent working in a petstore during college. While the majority of my work and experience is with dogs and cats, working in the pet store provided me with a broad knowledge of care for all animals.
I have always had dogs/cats in my household and my two current furkids-Kaila and Lola- are Chihuahuas that I have rescued. I look forward to meeting and caring for your pets!
All my life I have had animals. I have also worked at animal hospitals taking care of animals.
When I was growing up I had a Golden Retriever named Toby who lived to be sixteen. I have had several cats one which I watched give birth to her kittens. I also like to horseback ride and have competed in horse shows. Right now I have a Chihuahua mix named Sammy who I adore. I enjoy working as a Pet Care Consultant for Critter Nannies because I get be around animals all day long.
My name is Donna and I am a mother of one child and have two cats which I have raised since they were kittens. Ozzie is a black and white 11 year old male kitty and Chloe, aka “Kitton” is a beautiful, female calico kitty. They both are a lot of fun and definitely have their own finicky personalities. Recently we found out Ozzie has diabetes so I had to learn how to give him his insulin shots. At first I felt really bad but now I can give him his shots with ease.
I have a Critter Nannies Pet Care Consultant for two years now and I’ve met some wonderful dogs and cats. I decided that I wanted to get into the dog walking/pet sitting business because I love animals, I love the outdoors and getting my daily exercise. What better way to get the best of both worlds. The best thing about being in this business compared to my 15+ years of being an Administrative Assistant is that my clients love me no matter what and that makes my job less stressful.
Currently I’ve applied at Harper College and would like to work on a degree in Journalism. I’ve loved to write since I was a young child. I’m also currently working on a children’s book staring some of my furry friends and our adventures together. I really love my dogs and cats because they make my day a lot brighter.
I always wanted a dog when I was a kid.
That didn’t happen until a year a go or so.
I met Max when he was 4 months old. He was adorable and still is.
His previous owners didn’t have time for him and so I adopted Max.
He became part of my life, someone to care for, like a baby. Max became
my baby. He is a year old! He is a troublemaker and loves to eat!
When I was a child a use to play with the dogs that lived around us.
When I was 9 years old I went to Mexico for my first time and
my brother had a dog, he followed me everywhere. That was my first time
that I actually took care of a dog. Since then my love for dogs grew. It broke my heart
when my sister called and told us that "Super" had died.
I am glad being part of Critter Nannies, it’s the best job one can have if you love animals. I enjoy meeting and sitting for other dogs. I get to interact with different types of breeds and I get to know their personality. For the summer I plan to
volunteering for a Beagle shelter. In the future I hope to become a foster parent for a dog.
If dogs could talk, perhaps we would find it as hard to get along with them as we do with people ~ Karel Čapek said. I am in love with this quote because its true! My Dog is my best friend!
My dog's full name is "Miss Doxie." She is a full bred Dachshund and is 2 years old. I adopted her from Verde Valley Rescue located in Cottonwood, Arizona when I used to live out there. She is my heart and soul. She is the happiest dog I know and she loves everyone.
I just recently have became a Critter Nanny and really enjoy it. I love animals with all my heart and I hope mankind comes together to save the lives of every pet in need. Down the road, I hope to offer a shelter to many more animals.
Ever since I was a little kid there was nothing I enjoyed more than spending time with animals. I always grew up with a dog, cat, or bird. Most of my memorable experiences as a child involved one of my pets. They just seem to make your day so much better no matter the issue. As of now we have three dogs and I have my own so that makes four. I enjoy very much playing with them and watching their different personalities. It is quite hilarious at times.
Critter Nannies has been an amazing part time job for me I enjoy meeting all new clients and seeing how different each dog really is. They all have these great personalities. I find myself talking about them to my friends and it sounds like I’m talking about people sometimes.
I absolutely love animals they are such a blessing.
